Donal Devery, a founding member of the company serves as Chief Executive Officer of Vysera Biomedical Ltd and is responsible for the commercialization of Vysera's technology. Donal has over 20 years experience in product development and technology commercialization in a variety of disciplines from small start-up companies to large world class multinational firms. Most recently with Aerogen Inc., he has successfully managed the product development and commercialisation of new drug delivery products. Donal has an honours degree in Engineering from the University of Limerick and a master's degree in Technology Management and Innovation from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Dr. Niall Behan, a founding member of the company serves as Chief Technology Officer of Vysera Biomedical Ltd and is responsible for all aspects of development of Vysera's technology and products. Niall has over 12 years experience in drug delivery, nanotechnology and polymer science. Niall has held a number of senior technical roles in Boston Scientific Corporation, Aerogen Inc. and NTera Ltd. In addition Niall has a PhD from the University of Limerick in association with Elan Pharma, Trinity College Dublin. He has an honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Limerick and has studied at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts USA. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and patents and has presented his research at a number of international and national conferences and meetings. In addition he has participated in the Irish government taskforce on the future of nanotechnology in Ireland.
Tony Keaveney, serves as Chief Operating Officer and has responsibility for company operations including product development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and clinical operations. Tony has over seventeen years product development experience within the medical device industry both in Ireland and in the US, of which over nine years have been at senior management level. Prior to joining Vysera Biomedical, Tony served as Director of Design Assurance for Boston Scientific's Cardiovascular R&D group and has previously held positions at Baxter Healthcare, Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Mallinckrodt, Covidien (Tyco Healthcare) and Aerogen Inc. Tony has significant experience in preparation, submission and negotiation of regulatory approvals for a diverse range of invasive and non-invasive medical devices for European, US and other markets. He also has extensive experience in management of quality systems including considerable third-party audit experience.
Wayne Allen, is the Business Development Manager for Vysera Biomedical and has 12 years experience in the medical devices field, based both in Europe and the US. Wayne's primary role and responsibilities include managing the clinical development of new products, interfacing with medical advisors and marketing/commercialisation of new products. Wayne spent seven years based in Philadelphia, USA with orthopaedic market leader Synthes, occupying various roles; his last appointment with Synthes was as a Global Product Manager where he managed the market development and release of spinal fusion products from concept to launch. Wayne has a BSc. Biochemistry from the University of Limerick and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
